Lightspeed Retail X Series Migration Guide

Use the current X Series product template for inbound catalog work. An R Series spreadsheet is not a substitute. Capture the outlet list and the product identifiers from the source before transforming files.

The X Series import instructions distinguish standard products, variants and composites. Map a style to the intended product group, and give each sellable variation its approved SKU. Keep composite relationships separate from ordinary size and color options.

For new products, follow the template’s new-record ID rules rather than reusing another system’s internal IDs. Keep the old IDs in a separate mapping file to verify the result.

If Shopify remains connected, review the existing product handles and linked catalog before loading another copy. Name the system that will own product edits and stock after cutover. An import does not configure the ongoing connection.

X Series states that bulk historical sales import is not supported by the standard workflow. Plan access to historical reports separately; any proposed custom method needs review before inclusion. Customer contacts, store credit, loyalty and gift cards also need distinct acceptance decisions.

Review one full style, a customer match and a stock item in two outlets. Reconcile the sellable variants and outlet quantities against the agreed snapshot, then approve exceptions before a final transfer.
