The decisions
we make first.

  1. Source access

Review representative exports and the available extraction method.

  2. History & balances

Assess sales history, gift cards, loyalty, and credits separately.

  3. Test & acceptance

Agree the records and checks before the final transfer.

Translate your retail catalog carefully

We review your R Series catalog, including matrix products, custom SKUs, barcodes, costs, and categories. The data map identifies how each product and variant will appear in Shopify.

If different stores use different prices, we address that explicitly. Shopify’s documented Lightspeed Store Migration workflow selects a product’s highest price instead of preserving location specific prices through that import.

Bring the right quantity to each store

For a retailer with multiple locations, inventory needs a separate location mapping. We plan the opening stock transfer alongside the product import and check the agreed quantities against the final source snapshot.

Customer contacts are mapped separately from historical orders. Gift cards, outstanding credit, loyalty, and open transactions receive an individual review.

Review before the final transfer

Your $2,999 flat fee covers the confirmed migration scope. We prepare representative records for a test import, review the results with you, and reconcile the agreed data after the planned production move.

Directional data plan: Lightspeed Retail R Series to Shopify POS

This is a planning matrix for assessment, not evidence of a completed transfer. The included fields and receiving method are confirmed from authorized samples before booking.

DatasetSource evidenceReceiving decision and acceptance
Products and variantsR Series inventory export with matrix/item identity and store quantities; customer extraction reviewed separately.Current Shopify product CSV or eligible migration app; customer CSV and inventory workflow are separate.
Identifiers and existing recordsRetain matrix and individual item IDs so size/color grouping can be reconstructed and checked.Inspect existing products before selecting create/update behavior; history requires another method.
Customer contactsObtain a separate customer sample with source IDs and duplicate candidates.Confirm supported fields and match rules; reconcile created, matched and rejected profiles. Contacts do not establish transferred balances.
Opening inventoryIdentify each source store, quantity state and export time.Map each store to the receiving location and compare each included variant/location pair after the test.
History and liabilitiesList required receipts, gift cards, credit, loyalty and open orders separately.Approve a specific native method, usable archive or exclusion for each. Do not infer support from the catalog import.

R Series item identity into Shopify

Match matrix items to Shopify products and variants using a retained ID crosswalk. Review existing Shopify records before choosing a create or update operation, and reconcile the location quantities after catalog matching.

Acceptance before production

Choose a full style with several variants, an unusual barcode, an existing customer and stock in two locations where relevant. Record expected grouping, identifiers and quantities before loading it. Compare the returned destination records with the source crosswalk, resolve rejected rows and have the retailer approve exceptions.

Agree the final snapshot, trading changes and recovery action before the production transfer. Hardware, staff training and ongoing ecommerce or accounting connections have separate implementation owners. Correction responsibilities and support duration belong in the written scope.
