01Understand the source.
Review the records, identifiers, relationships, and export options.
02Prepare for the destination.
Map supported fields and decide how to handle existing data.
03Check the result.
Review a sample, compare agreed counts, and record the exceptions.
What the data plan needs to establish
Retail customer liabilities and stock values are not the same scope as a full general ledger migration. Identify the financial records needed and the person who can approve them.
Agree the balance date, currency, valuation basis, reconciliation totals, and destination posting method. ERP accounting configuration requires the implementation and finance owners.
Map the details that matter
- Customer liabilities → approved balances by identity
- Inventory valuation → agreed accounting basis
- Opening date → controlled cutoff
- Ledger and posting setup → separately owned work
An illustrative check
An illustrative stock quantity can reconcile while its value differs because one system uses a different cost basis. Quantity acceptance and financial acceptance need separate checks.
How we review this dataset
Provide a representative sample through an agreed secure process after the initial assessment. We compare the available fields with the destination requirements and document the accepted treatment.
The test and handover should show expected records, actual results, unresolved exceptions, and the retailer’s approval. Inclusion is confirmed before booking.
Your systems. Your next chapter.
Know what moved. Know what needs attention.
Tell us where your data is today, and where you’d like to go. We’ll help you understand the next step.
